About The Gospel Plug

I’m Matthias, a husband, father of five, and Engineering Director in the Atlanta area. The Gospel Plug is where I share Bible studies, notes, and guides that I’ve written or gathered over the years. Most of them started as something I was reading on my own or talking through with someone else.

A lot of these studies came from questions I was already dealing with. Marriage, parenting, work, church, friendship, conflict, leadership, and the regular pressures of life have a way of bringing Scripture close to home. It is one thing to agree with a passage. It is another thing to let it challenge you when the situation is personal.

That is why I started putting these studies together. I want to slow down, pay attention to the text, and think honestly about what it means for the way I live.

My roots are in COGIC, but I have learned from Christians in many traditions, including Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist, and Presbyterian churches. I am grateful for that. The Church is bigger than any one denomination, and other Christians have often helped me see things in Scripture that I had overlooked.

Many of the studies here started with simple questions. What does forgiveness look like when someone has really hurt you? How do you lead without trying to control everything? What does faithfulness look like when doing the right thing costs you? How should we respond when relationships get difficult, plans fall apart, or obedience becomes inconvenient?

Some of these studies are more finished than others. Others are still close to the notes I originally wrote for myself or the conversations that started them.

I hope these studies are useful to you as you read, think, and try to live out what Scripture teaches.
